Free Access to the Novaverse

From day one, the Novaverse was conceived as a Free-to-Play experience.

One of the project ambitions is to attract as many Web2 people as possible, creating a gradual understanding of Web3 concepts as the gameplay demands it.

We envision a world where anyone could assume a role in constructing a thriving galactic civilization no matter what the starting point is.

The team is also committed to primarily rewarding Novas citizens' dedication instead of implementing a pay-to-win strategy.

We call this an effort-first system.

Minimum Requirements

Although accessing the Novaverse is entirely free, we still need to determine the user's identity and store its earned resources and found objects.

Therefore, the only requirement that Novaseers will ever ask is to connect a Cardano Wallet to the app.

Free Access

As any member of the galactic civilization, free players will be considered Xers.

Beyond egalitarian naming, Xers will be provided with a basic SEV and, with this, the ability to explore its home Nova.

The basic SEV will also have basic mining equipment allowing the players to increase their net value gathering resources.

The obtained resources can then be used to enhance the SEV capabilities improving the distance that the Xers can cover and the efficiency of their mining tools.

Although Intergalactic Exploration is not enabled in the basic SEV, the necessary equipment can be crafted or traded using the gathered resources.

Limitations

Even if the Xers effort remains the most effective strategy, some limitations apply to free players.

Since the core of most of the economy and entity system is the Cardano blockchain, any game mechanics that implies obtaining or transacting an on-chain game entity will need at least a transaction fee payment.

That means free users will gather resources and explore using the unrefined HRM and MICO, but they cannot craft any enhancement since these require refined resources and storage in the user's wallet.

Also, some entities will be hardly available for Free to Play players; these are Novas, Exos, enhanced SEVs, and Skins. However, some exceptions apply. Once these elements are minted, the owner can exchange them or give them for free.

Each of the previously mentioned entities has associated perks, said perks can be outworked with enough effort.
